A small hill resort situated in the Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. It is surrounded by a ring of peaks and it's deep valleys are lush with vegetation. This resort was discovered in 1870 by W.D. Horsley, a European member of the Indian Civil Services who made it his summer resort.

EXCURSIONS
Rishi Valley School (44 Km.): A famous school in the midst of a valley, founded by the famous philosopher, J. Krishnamoorthy. Gurramkonda (60 Km.): One can see here a fort and several tombs associated with Tipu Sultan. Lepakshi (77 Km.): It is famous for its 16th century temple complex executed in the Vijaynagar style. The landmark of the place, however in the Monolithic statue of Nandi, the largest in the country. Sompalle (78 Km.): Well known for its temples, which are built in the Vijayanagar style.
